If you build it, they will come. (Church planting)
In the 1980's, there was a movie called Field of Dreams, about a man building a baseball diamond in his field so that baseball players would come play there. The movie declared, “If you build it, they will come.” That statement is true in Madagascar. If you build a new church in the community, it shows the people that you are committing to be among them.
Some time back I held an evangelistic crusade in a small village. Hundreds accepted Christ and indicated they were ready to be part of the new church we were starting. But when we told them there was no building yet, they said they would wait until one was built to attend. What a tragedy to reach these people for Christ and then lose them over the lack of a building to house the church.
The good news is, we have land in that village and will be building a church there in the near future! With a building, growth will come and lives will be changed!
Building Together: How You Can Help!
This year in Madagascar, the Church has made a goal of starting 300 new churches. With that goal will come the need for land and buildings for them to worship in. While our family is in America we are looking for churches and individuals who would partner with us in this work.
It is our goal to return to Madagascar with the funds to help at least 10 churches buy land and put up a building. The total cost for each church will be approximately $6000. That is $2000 for the land, $2000 for the foundation and frame and $2000 for the roof.
Many of our Pastors make great sacrifices on a daily basis battling false religion, disease and malnutrition to build the church. We ask that you consider making a small financial sacrifice to help give them a place of worship.
Maybe you can commit to 1 or more churches, or maybe you can only buy a roof or a piece of land. But if all of us work together, we can impact thousands of lives by creating a place to house God’s people! Will you help us?
