Evactuated
Dear Prayer Partners,
We have been safely evacuated out of Madagascar and are temporarily living in Nairobi, Kenya among the Assemblies of God missionaries located here. It was a very stressful and hectic time of packing, preparing to leave, saying goodbyes, and not knowing when we might return. It is painful to walk away, even for a short time, from those whom God has called you to and you love so dearly. But we have entrusted them for this moment into the hands of our loving Heavenly Father. In the meantime, we are getting adjusted to living in yet another country and culture, however short the time will be.
In Madagascar the situation continues to become more serious each day.
The mutineering soldiers are becoming more aggressive, the opposition party is moving forward and the President is surrounded. Just yesterday evening, the opposition forces captured the Presidential palace and declared themselves in charge. They also issued an arrest warrant for the President, even though they have no power to do so. Tanks are rolling through the streets and gunshots are heard throughout the night. We have also received reports of further evacuations of other organizations. Times are desperate. But we know as you continue to pray, God's Spirit will intervene in the lives of the people, from the most influential to the least powerful, from the poorest to the richest, from the big cities to the smallest village. Continue to believe God with us for peace and healing to come to our land.
Also, thank you to those who have contacted us in regards to our financial situation brought on by this crisis. There have been a few of you who have indicated that you would be taking up a special offering to assist us over and above your regular support. We greatly appreciate you giving to us in this time of extreme financial pressure. If you have not considered doing so, would you prayerfully consider doing something special as every bit will help. We are confident in God our provider and you our church families to help us overcome this present obstacle!
