Urgent
Since our last communication with you last week, things have gotten much worse here in Madagascar. Their has been a mutiny within the army, there is talk of a possible military take over of the government, violence in the streets has escalated, attacks on governements officials has begun, etc... Needless to say, the situation has become very serious.
As a result, it is the decision of Assemblies of God World Missions for the missionaries to exacuate the country immediately. What that means for our family is that we will be flying to Nairobi, Kenya on the first available flight out of the country, which is Saturday. We will spend the time until the flight making all necessary arrangements for our ministries, personal possessions & packing bags to leave.
How can you pray?
For our safety over the next few days. Everyday until now has been completely unpredictable. We need stability and peace.
For the flights to continue from all airlines. Many people will be doing the same thing as us. That means the airlines need to continue to service the needs of the people. But they can only do that if they can insure the safety of their people and their planes.
For the national church and believers. This political situation has them very shaken up. We have assured them that our evacuation is only intended to be temporary. As soon as calm and order is restored, we will return to continue our work among them.
For our daughters. Our girls are tough and are able to handle a lot. But this kind of sudden upheavel can effect anyone. Pray that they will be continually aware of God's presence and love. That they will see God's hand at work in them. That they might grow in trust for God's provision during this time.
For our finances. This kind of change for our family will be quite costly. It will involve plane tickets, visas, temporary housing in another country, plus continuing to maintain our home, ministries and employees here in Madagascar. Please pray about what you or your church can do to give a special, emergency offering to cover these expenses that will begin immediately. We know the generosity of God's people and are confident that you will be able to help to provide for this need.
