Jay and Carey Rostorfer are involved in church planting and evangelism, as well as teaching and training church leaders for full-time ministry. Jay spends much of his time training local churches in personal evangelism, as well as holding evangelistic crusades in the cities as well as in the bush. Throughout the year he also teaches in the Bible School, helping to train and equip future Pastors for the work of the ministry. Other areas of ministry include director of the orphanage with 21 children, youth ministry development, and assisting with the translation of the Fire Bible.
"As veteran missionaries, we are excited to represent the churches of the Ohio District, as well as the Assemblies of God nationally, to the people of Madagascar and East Africa. After 12 years of Pastoral ministry, first as a youth pastor and then as a church planter, we know God has prepared us for this area of ministry. We know that as we partner with each church, to receive the financial and spiritual support that is so needed for us to do our work, that God will continue to cause us to prosper in this vital area of the world.
"Carey and I have both always known that we were called into the ministry of World Missions. Carey's call came through her own experiences, as she was rescued as an orphan out of war-torn Vietnam in 1975. As a missionary risked his life to save her life and that of 22 other children, she has always had the desire to reach out to others in a similar fashion. I've known I was called into the ministry since I was 11 years old and felt the call to World Missons as a result of a mission's trip to Haiti at the age of 16."
Jay served as senior pastor in Napoleon, Ohio and youth pastor in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
